The Ferryman and the Giant

It was at the Yaelmor of Savor a long time ago, before the first bridge was build, when a large man spoke to the ferryman of Burzyn. “Hey, ferryman”, he spoke with a booming voice, “I’ve got a worthwhile charge for you.” The ferryman was happy about this, for the night was dark and only a few were willing to cross the Ulmerien at such times. “But there is one condition”, the giant said, “you are not allowed to talk. Old Larske of Drydere

A short walk away from Burzyn down the road to Onden lays the village of Drydere. Halfway between the village and the town, you see beside the road a small standing stone its inscription saying it being erected in 682 TR in memorial of a Larske of Drydere. Continue reading

The Evelation of Burzyn Castle

Caer Burzyn has been build on an old jarin hill fort, but how many feet does the castle raise above the shore of the Ulmerien? By the slope of the castles escape tunnel, which opens to the river, we can calculate that the court yard is on a level of approximately 42′. A guard on one of the towers of the inner circle of the castle stands about 69′ high. Permitting good weather he should be able to spot Onden or even Namadees on the horizon.
